1997 Spawn wasnt a train wreck but it has its good points as well as its bad points: Good points that worked for the film. Some Brilliant casting, Michael jai white was perfect for spawn/al simmons, John Leguizamo was awesome & funny as hell as the clown/violator, Martin Sheen done a fantastic job as the evil defence company director Jason Wynn with Melinda Clarke playing the cold ruthless right hand woman perfectly. The C.G.I for spawn transformation suit was brilliantly done, special when he goes into combat love the way the mask covers the face like a second skin, violator C.G.I was good in some place, special the transformation from clown to creature that was brilliant done. The C.G.I for the cape was brilliantly done as well, special with the bike scene I thought that was well done as well as the wall scene. Bad points that made this film fail to be brilliant. casting Nicol Williamson as Cogliostro I didnt really feel his scenes to be a believable character it just felt off with him I think a better actor was need for this role. The one big major let down was the C.G.I for hell & The Devil Malebolgia I think this was iver to cut the budget of the film or just the lack of imagination in the look of Malebolgia, it need to look like the devil with a demonic look & not some fake C.G.I giant talking goat creature this film would of worked. I just hope with the remake they learn from the mistake of this film.
