19th July 2014 PAKO JUNIOR FC BACK TO WINNING WAYS AFTER SEEING OFF UPRISING IN A NAIROBI PROVINCIAL LEAGUE MATCH...... The tiger boys are back to their winnings ways after securing a crucial 1-0 victory against fellow rivals uprising FC in the ongoing Nairobi provincial league. Pako started the second leg on the right foot in a match they could have won 6-0. It all started as early as in the 7th minute when overlapping left back Erick Onyango dribbled past two defenders to curve in a cross that hit the cross bar. 3 minutes later Daniel Kawiche curved in another wonderful cross from the right wing and again the ball hit the cross bar. Uprising were under pressure throughout the first half with more attack coming in from Collins Omar, Alex Maina and Peter Mushoki. The pressure almost paid credit when midfield wonder kid Peter Mushoki received a through ball from Odhiambo who curved in another cross that found Daniel Kawiche unmarked at the far post with a clear finish at goal but headed way above the cross bar. 2nd Half Pako introduced Nickolas Otieno for Antony Musyoka and immediately more strength was witnessed in the midfield as the more of defensive player brought more stability and confidence in the midfield. Tiresome Pakos center forward Kawitche was seen substituted with the incoming of Kevin Owiti in the 58th minute. Owitis introduction almost proved to be a breakthrough after Omars dribbling skills inside the 18 area beat United full back to find Owiti unmarked six yards away from the post but his poor first touch finish went wide. Uprising had little attempts at goal and could not beat Pakos 16 year old candidates Paul Wambet and Steven Anekeya allowing their custodian Ronny Ndinya an early shower. 65th minute.... Working horse and man of the match Collins Omar whos style of play was remarkable finally gave Pako the lead in the 65th minute after receiving a chip from Odhiambo inside the D area mark. Omar chest controlled the ball and unleashed a volley that easily beat uprising keeper to send his teammates at the far corner for celebration. The goal frustrated uprising who were playing for a draw being the visitors and play was interrupted for 10 minutes as the furious players started attacking the referee with insults trying to send the match to dispute when one of their players was red carded earlier in the match. Play continued and the tiger boys hard no mercy as Onyangos 30 yard free kick was finger saved by United custodian in the 80th minute. Pakos coach Walter Muturi could not retreat to pack the bus with 10 minutes of play remaining but used his last substitute by introducing a striker Goerge Mbuvi for Alves Ngugi to seal the match. Muturi was almost rewarded when Mbuvi closely tested the keeper twice in the 83rd and 87th minute but United custodian fine reflexes denied Mbuvi his first goal of the season. 90 + 5 min extra time... With 3 minutes of extra time remaining, Pako surprised Uprising with a counter attack from a poor Uniteds corner that was won by Alex Maina who immediately found Kevin Owiti half way line with running support from Robert Odhiambo and George Mbuvi in 3 v 1 situation but Owiti decided to take all on his credit after dribbling all the way to the 18 area and unleashing a superb shot that was saved by United Custodian to send the ball for Pakos 4th corner. The match ended 1-0 in favor of the tiger boys who are now 5th on the log table.
