1John 3:13-24; 4: 7-21. The dominant note of this Epistle is LOVE. WE SHOULD LOVE ONE ANOTHER People conceived and brought into life by God, don’t make a practice of sin. How could they? God’s seed is deep within them, making them who they are. It’s not in the nature of the God-begotten to practice and parade sin. Here’s how you tell the difference between God’s children and the Devil’s children: The one who won’t practice righteous ways isn’t from God, nor is the one who won’t love brother or sister. A simple test. We know that we have passed out of death into life because we love the bretheren .. He that LOVES NOT abides in death. Whoever hates his brother is a murderer. Let us LOVE ONE ANOTHER (4:7). Everyone that LOVES is begotten of GOD & KNOWS GOD (4:7) LOVE is of God (4:7) We ought to LOVE ONE ANOTHER (4:11) Let us love one another (4:11) GOD IS LOVE (4:16) He that ABIDES IN LOVE ABIDES IN GOD, PERFECT LOVE CASTS OUT FEAR. We LOVE because He first loved us. If a man say, I LOVE GOD, and HATES HIS BROTHER, HE IS A LIAR. HE THAT LOVES NOT HIS BROTHER WHOM HE HAS SEEN, HOW CAN HE LOVE GOD WHOM HE HAS NOT SEEN? John is very insistent that being saved by the GRACE of CHRIST, DOES NOT RELEASE US FROM THE NECESSITY of OBEYING CHRISTS COMMANDMENT, AND CHRISTS CHIEF COMMANDMENT IS LOVE. WE KNOW CHRIST IF WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. HE THAT SAYS I KNOW HIM AND KEEPS NOT HIS COMMANDMENTS..is a LIAR. Whatsoever we ask , WE RECEIVE because we keep His commandments. It is told of John that, when he was old and too feeble to walk, he would be carried into the church, and in speaking would always say, LITTLE CHILDREN LOVE ONE ANOTHER IT IS THE LORDS COMMANDMENT Marie De Rosario
