1Kings3:26-28 26. The woman whose son was alive was filled with compassion for her son and said to the king, Please, my lord, give her the living baby! Dont kill him! But the other said, Neither I nor you shall have him. Cut him in two! 27. Then the king gave his ruling: Give the living baby to the first woman. Do not kill him; she is his mother. 28. When all Israel heard the verdict the king had given, they held the king in awe, because they saw that he had wisdom from God to administer justice. 列王記上3:26-28 26. 生きている子の母親は、その子を哀れに思うあまり、「王様、お願いです。この子を生かしたままこの人にあげてください。この子を絶対に殺さないでください」と言った。しかし、もう一人の女は、「この子をわたしのものにも、この人のものにもしないで、裂いて分けてください」と言った。 27. 王はそれに答えて宣言した。「この子を生かしたまま、さきの女に与えよ。この子を殺してはならない。その女がこの子の母である。」 28. 王の下した裁きを聞いて、イスラエルの人々は皆、王を畏れ敬うようになった。神の知恵が王のうちにあって、正しい裁きを行うのを見たからである。
