1Peter 3:15, “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense (reason) to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear”. Sanctify is to set apart for sacred use, it’s also to make holy and purify. The definition I love,sanctify is to make productive of holiness. The Lord is holy, because He lives in us, we have to set ourselves apart in readiness for His use, we have to desire holiness and purity. Our uniqueness will raise questions and what a joy to stand and respond confidently the reason why we serve Christ,to contend for the faith. Are you ready to give an answer if someone was to ask you about your hope in Christ? If asked, would you answer with meekness (submissive, patient, humbleness) and fear (extreme reverence)?. I want to be different in the sight of men and when they ask me what makes me different, I will not be afraid and intimidated to speak of the hope that lies within me. This serves even as a great reminder of why I serve Christ.
