1Timothy 2:9,10 9)Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments, 10)but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness. Modesty is a hot topic in Christianity, and an article i read tonight sparked my mind as both sides, male and female, debated back and forth as to whose responsible when it comes to lust being brought forth when a man sees a woman dressed inappropriately. One awesome thing about the Holy Bible is that we can read the scripture and discern for ourselves. Even better is the fact that we can receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit, and He will lead us into all truth. One thing that stands out in these verses is, for women making a claim to godliness. That says a lot right there, he is addressing the women who are making a claim to godliness, not visitors or those unaware. *This is not exempting men from the responsibility because they too have to guard our own hearts* So to me, being modest is Godly and follows scripture, and if i or any woman dresses in a way that causes lust in a mans heart, then its WRONG. Men are held accountable to a certain degree, but do not give the devil a chance to use you as anyones stumblingblock. You can look cute and not dress in something tight, fleshy and short. Put it back on the rack and say, satan, get behind me! #ThisHasBeenAMinuteClinicBibleStudy #BroughtToYouByLateNightThinking
