1st SK-LUCBAN INTER-BARANGAY TABLE TENNIS CHALLENGE #CLINIC #FRIENDSHIP GAMES 2013 PROSPECTUS 1. DATE & TIME 1.1 November 2, 2013 (7am-12noon) - Table Tennis Clinic for beginners (1pm-onwards) – Tournament Proper 1.2 November 3, 2013 (7am onwards) – Continuation of Games / Awarding 2. VENUE Benito Pilar Yao Social Hall (Municipal Building) 3. ORGANIZER The organizer of the event is the SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN (SK) of LUCBAN in cooperation with the SLSU Institute of Human Kinetics/Table Tennis Varsity Team. CHIEF REFEREE – MR. SAMUEL T. SACOPLA Coach-SLSU TABLE TENNIS 4. EVENT/FORMAT 4.1 The Competition (Table Tennis Challenge) is an all singles (mixed event) for all LUCBANIN table tennis athletes and enthusiasts. The competition will be played in accordance with the level of play/skills of competing athletes regardless of gender and age, to be determined by the chief referee of the tournament. A. Beginners’-Class “C” Mixed Singles Event - Players who had participated in congressional district athletic meets and any other higher level of table tennis tournaments are not allowed to play in Class “C” Mixed Singles Event. The cut-off age for Class “C” is 13 years of age as of November 2, 2013. B. Class “B” Mixed Singles Event - Players who had participated in regional and any other higher level of table tennis tournaments are not allowed to play in Class “B” Mixed Singles Event with the exception of Elementary pupils C. Class “A” Mixed Singles Event - All Players may be allowed to enter in Class “A” Mixed Singles Competitions. The organizer/chief referee reserves the right to limit the number of participants in this Event. D. Balik-Laro “Walang Kupas” Mixed Singles Event - The cut-off age for this event is 26 years old and older as of November 2, 2013. “Balik Laro” players are encouraged to enter in Class “A” Mixed Singles Event. 4.2 A player may be allowed to play in only two events if qualified. 4.3. Class “C” matches are to be played in a best of three games, except for the CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH which will be played in a best of five games. 4.4 Class “A”, “B”, “Balik-Laro” matches are to be played in a best of five games except for the championship games which will be played in a best of seven games. 4.6 The competition format for each event will be determined by the Chief Referee depending on the number of entries. 5. ELIGIBILITY The competition is open to all Lucbanin table tennis athletes and enthusiasts ONLY. 6. ENTRY & INQUIRIES Entries must be submitted to SK office/SK Representative or to the Chief Referee NOT later than October 25, 2013. 7. ENTRY FEE (NONE) 8. PRIZES Medals/Trophies and Prizes for each event will be determined by the SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN PRIZES AND AWARDS Committee. The following may be awarded to participants. a. Most Promising Athlete b. Cash Prize to Class “A” top three WINNERS 9. DRAW The drawing of lots will be held on November 2, 2013 (am) at the Benito Pilar Yao Social Hall (Municipal Bldg.) 10. RULES The tournament will be conducted in accordance with the current Laws of Table Tennis sanctioned by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). 11. UNIFORM All participants are encouraged to be in their respective barangay team uniform (if possible) for proper identification during the Opening Ceremony, Competition and Awarding Ceremony. 12. EXPENSES All participants shall be responsible for expenses not covered by the competition. 13. RESERVATION The Organizing Committee reserves the right to interpret or amend the rules and regulation of the tournament at any time without prior notification. Any other rules that are not covered by this prospectus will be decided upon by the Organizing Committee whose decision is FINAL. 14. OFFICIALS/UMPIRES The following are the officials of the tournament: 1 Chief Referee 3 Table Officials 6 Umpires/Assistant Umpires The SLSU Table Tennis Varsity Teams (Secondary/College Athletes) and former SLSU table tennis athletes will serve as officials of the tournament on a “pro bono” arrangement. Refreshment and meals of the officials/umpires for November 2 and 3, shall be shouldered by the Organizer.
