1st Sustainment Command (Theater) Soldiers return just in time for the holidays FORT BRAGG, N.C. — Soldiers from the 1st Sustainment Command (Theater) are scheduled to return early in the morning Dec. 20 after serving in Kuwait and Afghanistan. Following a brief ceremony, the Soldiers will be released and reunited with family and friends who came to welcome the group home. During their nine-month deployment, the Soldiers provided support for the largest logistical drawdown since World War II. They are returning as part of a routine rotation of the command’s forward headquarters and were relieved by fellow 1st TSC Soldiers and civilians who left Fort Bragg earlier this month. The 1st TSC is in the fight every day, moving what is needed throughout the 20 countries in U.S. Army Central Command’s area of operations. As a global sustainment provider, the 1st TSC supplies food, fuel, water, transportation, ammunition, building materials and repair parts. Additionally, the 1st TSC manages the ports, flights, and customs points needed to keep people and equipment moving 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The 1st TSC also provides adjunct support in the areas of financial management, human resources, humanitarian aid distribution, host-nation engagements, and medical care for troops and civilians within the command.
