1st grade common core at its finest! My first grade littles could tell you everything about The Wizard of Oz. They can even tell you how to make a tornado. So, we used vinegar, food coloring, water, and dish soap. They loved it. They can also tell you all about the characters, where Kansas is, the difference between an tornado, storm, electrical storm, and the clouds that go with each. They are learning this in Spanish too. As they learn all of this, they have learned person, place, thing, present tense verbs, the difference between but, so, and because as well as reading a first grade story called Mr. C.s Dinner. They are having so much fun and learning so many new things.
