1st of November 2014 Cumberworth 4 Aimbry 3 MOM Ben Whitehead After 3 disappointing results in the last 3 games Cumberworth looked to cement theirselves in 3 position with a game against promotion chasing Aimbry. The lads once again met in the star and soaked a bit of Newcastle vs Liverpool (why it was shit) before heading up to Birdsedge to get changed and go through the warm up with manager Liam Doran. During the warm up it was noticeable that some of the younger lads had been out truck or treating the night before with Jake Hussain sporting grey hair and James Coleman sporting a hang over. The formation was picked with Doran going for a 4-5-1 formation to try and stop the amount of goals the lads had conceded in the last 3 games The game kicked off with Cumberworth playing uphill into the wind and Aimbry started the game brightly and took the game to Cumberworth early on, but a counter attack and the pace of the reliable Kane Bowker set up Joe Lodge to turn and score to put Cumberworth 1-0 to the good Cumberworth then made it 2-0 when Lodge turned provider as his pin point corner was smashed home by Marcus Moxon who then had to ask Aimbrys number 5 whose a fat bastard now, funny, the ref didnt think so. Aimbry then pulled one back before another pinpoint Lodge corner was met by Ash Smith whose header went in off the side of Bowkers face and into the goal to put Cumberworth 3-1 up at half time. The second half started with a thunderbolt shot straight from the kick off Dave Dunn that nearly caught the Aimbry keeper out, but thats all that happened in the a torrid 35 minutes for Cumberworth as Aimbry pulled the game back to 3-3 with a penalty and a very contentious goal. But the Cumberworth lads plugged away and when Snowball was pushed (cough cough) in the box Bowker had and took the chance to win the game as he smashed home the penalty. The game was won and the lads then spent 15-20 minutes ripping the shit out of Snowballs 1980s Renault and collected the statuary fine money in. Next week is a trip to the AIDS capital of England - Doncaster, I would suggest we all put a condom on before we go just incase Till then happy Manchester Derby day
