2:87 And indeed We gave Moses the Book, and followed from after him with the messengers. And We gave Isa, son of Marium, the evidence and supported him with a hallowed spirit. So whenever a messenger came to you with what your own did not incline, you were arrogant. So a portion you disputed and a portion you fought. 2:88 And they said, “Our hearts are wrapped.” No, The God cursed them in their denial; so few are they who believe. 2:89 And when came to them a Book from nigh The God – one that confirms what is with them – and they were from before seeking decision over those who deny. So when came to them what they recognized, they were deniers in it. So the curse of The God is on the deniers. 2:90 Evil is what they exchanged thereby their own that they deny in what The God sent, envying that The God sends from His bounty on whom He wills from His servants. So they incur anger upon anger, and for the deniers is a punishment: one that is humiliating.
