2 Corinthians 1:18-20(NIV) But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not “Yes” and “No.” For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me and Silas and Timothy—was not “Yes” and “No,” but in him it has always been “Yes.” For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. He is the God of truth, and eternal life. Jesus Christ, whom we preach, is not yes and no, but in Him was yes, He is the infallible truth. And the promises of God in Christ are not yes and no, but they are yes and amen. There is a never broken constancy and unquestionable sincerity and certainty as far as the gospel of Christ is concern. Even If our promises as ministers of the gospel and as ordinary men changes, yet the promises of the gospel covenant, which we preach, stand firm and unbreakable. There is a consistent stability of the divine promises, meaning they are all Yes and Amen. The promises of God are true, for He is the God of truth, who cannot lie, and whose truth and mercy endures forever. The promises of God are made in Christ Jesus, who is the Amen, the true and faithful witness; it is He that hath purchased and validated the covenant of promises, and is the surety of the covenant. The promises of God are confirmed by the Holy Spirit. It is Him who does establish Christians in the faith of the gospel and he has anointed them with his sanctifying grace. So then the “YES” is in Christ and has always been, and ours it to agree to that truth by our “amen” to the glory of God. Indeed Jesus is our “YES.”
