2 Fantastic example of Japanese Champleve style Cloisonné .Not quite a pair slightly different designs and one is slightly larger. Stunning design featuring many of the most desirable elements, bird fruit and floral motifs. Champleve is worked in technique similar to Cloisonne, it is much more detailed and stands out for its impressive floral and geometric pattern relief on the brass vase. The effect is imparts a more elevated design compared to traditional cloisonne. Dimensions approx. 7.5 x 5.5 (from handle to handle) Wear to the individual cloisones is consistant with a 80 + years old, early 20th century cloisonne. This vase was purchased from the estate of a very serious collector of Cloisonné and Asian art, guaranteed authentic. Base is marked Made in Japan Excellent vintage condition, no breaks major dents or warping, general age wear to cloisones and occasional marks on the brass, very minor.
