2 Left Feet Blues Festival 2014 This September, the 2 Left Feet Blues Festival will be welcoming two top blues artists to the festival. Johnny Sansone and Debbie Davies will be among the seven performers who will be playing this year. Sansone is known for his blistering electric harmonica tone and award winning song writing. His music career has brought him from his early professional years backing up Chicago blues legends Jimmy Rodgers, Robert Jr Lockwood, John Lee Hooker to fronting Ronnie Earl’s Broadcasters in the 1980s. In the 1990s, he was in the front seat to help pioneer the new brand of roots music that was brewing up in New Orleans with bands like the Iguana’s, Anders Osborne, and the Subdudes. Now after a Grammy nomination, nine Blues Music Award nominations (winning song of the year 2012), a Juno Award, 15 Best of the Beat Awards, and seven Big Easy Awards, Sansone continues to forge forward on worldwide tours with his band, as a solo artist, and as a member of New Orleans super group The Voice of The Wetlands All Stars. Davies is an award-winning singer, songwriter, and guitar player of extraordinary talent. A professional musician since the early 1980s, Davies ranks among the top blues artists in the country. She has received 10 nominations for Blues Music Awards, and in 1997 and 2010 won the award for Best Contemporary Female Blues Artist. Davies cut her teeth playing in blues and rock ‘n roll bands in the San Francisco Bay area before returning to Los Angeles in 1984, where she landed the lead guitar spot in Maggie Mayall and the Cadillacs, an all-female band led by wife of British blues pioneer, John Mayall. In 1988 she was recruited by Albert Collins to join the Icebreakers, and for the next three years she was a featured guitarist performing behind one of the most innovative bluesmen of all time. Since 1993, Davies has produced 11 solo recordings and two collaborative CDs, one with guitarists Tab Benoit and Kenny Neal, and another with guitarists Anson Funderburgh and Otis Grand. A 30-year veteran of the road, Davies’ latest recording is truly one of the leading lights on the contemporary blues music scene today. _______ FOLLOW LIPSapp Hits92 Radio _______ FB: r-js/1nNhEli / TW: r-js/XvfPli / Listen to LIPSapp Hits92 Radio r-js/1mYrXSo #frankocean #edsheeran #elliegoulding #ournameisfun #maroon5
