2 Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. Just one way to get the pureness of thought in this world. Read what the Holy men of God wrote...for yourself. One way to understand any teaching written by Holy men of God...get in the same frame of mind, the same Spirit these words were written in...the Holy Ghost. The Bible is a precision of word, each line is written to address one subject at a time...and is meant to be applied to the subject it is speaking of in CONTEXT. The Holy Ghost does not take any verse speaking of one subject and apply that verse to just any subject a person wants to apply it to. By mis-application of scripture...applying it to a subject it is not speaking of is twisting the scriptures...and all who do that are going to be destroyed. Having the fear of God is a good thing to have...so before a person decides they are going to teach the scriptures...examine yourself and see if you teach in the fear of God...for your own welfare. The Apostle Peter also had a hard time understanding some of the things Paul wrote to the Churches, but Peter recognized they were words given Paul by the Holy Ghost...and to be very careful how we apply Pauls teaching for ourselves or for others. 2 Peter 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest , as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction...
