2 Peter 1:4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. I cant help it. I am completely surrounded by temptation. It is uncontrollable. We live in sinful world. Look at what is on t.v. these days. I couldnt stop myself...at one, or two, or three. He pushed me too far. We live in a world that will try to convince us that there is no escape from the temptations of this world....that we have no control over our evil desires..that every thing and every one is responsible for our actions but ourselves....so when we respond out of anger, lust, frustration, disappointment....and the list goes on and on....we dont have to be accountable for our behavior....because it was never our fault to begin with.... But God has given us our escape...through Him and His very precious and real promises we can participate in His divine nature and escape the corruption of this world...today. He is the escape. However, it takes a life totally committed 100% focused on the Father. 100% of the time. No down time, no me time...apart from Him. When we go on vacation, we dont go on vacation from Him. When we are tired, we dont let our relationship with Him fall short..... He is not like a friend that we just dont call back....a picture that we take off the wall or a journal that we neglect. Whether or not we are engaged, ourselves, or not....He is always engaged with us....always. Yes, the world is corrupted. The news, the images, the people, the despair, the loss, the lack of unconditional love...it is all there....and we can choose to fall into the black pit of despair with it or we can choose to follow Him and escape it all. We dont have to fall victim to this world...we dont. We are children of the King and with that comes eternal life for tomorrow and the daily companionship of our Father, today. Today, take responsibility for your actions....when evil comes your way (and it will), choose to see Gods provisions..choose joy amidst the storm.
