Volontari richiesti: 2 Età: 18-30 anni Luogo: Arad, Romania Data attività: 1 Luglio 2013 – 30 Aprile 2014 Tema: Supporto attività ambientali con bambini e giovani Descrizione: “TEAM” is an EVS project that involves Romania as host country and 12 EU & non-EU states as sending countries. The project consists in sending 30 young volunteers from Italy,Spain, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Greece, Macedonia, Turkey, Sweden, Portugal, Ghana of which most are young people with fewer opportunities. The volunteer will have a 10 months stage in Arad County Romania. The project’s objectives are: - To promote sports and outdoor activities with the youngsters in Arad - To develop the volunteers personally and socially - To develop solidarity and mutual understanding inside the community. Attività: The volunteers will undertake sport and leisure activities with youngsters from primary schools and kindergartens in Arad – Romania. The volunteers will: - Develop an e-platform for promotion of outdoor activities with youngsters and the benefits of such activities at educational level; - Identify and restore different places suitable for outdoor activities in the city, such as small parks, backyards of school and kindergartens. - Prepare outdoor experimental learning events in Mures river meadow: Outdoor green activities like: planting trees, creating different objects from recycled materials, recycling paper etc; Promoting the activities in the schools from Arad, recruiting participants for the green activities; Promoting the activities in the e-magazine (magazine on electronic format); - Promote street dances and sportive dances: Promoting the activity, training the participants (between 14-18 years) for street and sportive dances; Preparing public spectacles; Promoting the activities in the e-magazine (magazine on electronic format); - Orienteering & geocaching Club Arad: Creating and developing an Orienteering & geocaching Club Arad; Promoting the club and attracting members for “orienteering” & “geocaching” fields; Creating “orienteering” & “geocaching” events Promoting the activities in the e-magazine (magazine on electronic format); - Other outdoor activities. The volunteers will have the freedom to select, prepare and organize outdoor activities for youngsters in Arad. The project does not impose limitations in developing the activities. The facilitator of the project will help identifying specific places where the volunteers can work such kindergartens, primary schools, day care centers for institutionalized and social disadvantaged youth, etc. The volunteers should be creative to be able to identify the methods used in the work with children. The work program is 6 – 7 hours a day out of which at least 4 for work and 2 for preparations of the next days. Usually weekends are free for volunteers excepting the situations when there will be an organized event as part of the project or where the volunteers should help and support the hosting organization. In such cases they can choose to have a weekday free to replace the working weekend. After the arrival the volunteers will go trough an introductory training which will help them integrate better in the community and as well prepare them for the stage. Part of this training is as also helping the volunteers to gain knowledge about non-formal learning and benefits of using it in their work. Volunteers will be hosted in rooms of 2-3 persons depending on how big the rooms are. They will have access to kitchen and bathrooms as well as they will have an office for themselves where they can prepare their work for the project. One activity facilitator, a language teacher and the mentors will be involved in the day-to-day work of volunteers.
