2 Thessalonians 2.3 in the expanded Greek: "Do not allow anyone to lead you astray in any way, because that day shall not come except the aforementioned departure (of the church to heaven) comes first and the man of lawlessness is disclosed, the son of perdition." The rapture of the church is the departure. The man of lawlessness and the son of perdition is the same person, "the beast" of Revelation 13 and "the Assyrian" of Micah 5.5; or as most know him, the antichrist. Therefore the rapture and the 2nd coming are two different events separated by 7 years known as the tribulation. The rapture will be a day of blessing, the 2nd coming will be a day of judgment. At the rapture Jesus Christ will come for His bride, the church, the body of Christ in the clouds. At the 2nd advent, Jesus Christ will physically return to the earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. This doctrine (of the rapture) is under major attack today. Many people do not believe it or understand it or both. And many people flat out reject it. I say so be it. God gives all of us the freedom to make choices. But I for one will proclaim it.
