2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. I know I have posted on this scripture before, but this morning the Lord gave me some additional understanding regarding its meaning. I think it will encourage you as much as it did me. Especially if you have wondered how to acquire these things in your own life. This verse tells us that Father God has not given us fear. Fear is never from God. So then what *is* from Him? First there is POWER. But its not *our* power that we are somehow trying to pump up. Its HIS power that He is supplying to us by way of the Holy Spirit. Instead of fear, there is His power that we can tap into to get through the situation causing the fear. Secondly, there is love. *His* love for us, that He gives us in place of fear. 1 John 4:18 (NKJV) There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. When it says that the one who fears has not been made *perfect in love*. It means that they havent come to an understanding of just how much they are loved by Father God. Romans 5:5 (NKJV) Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. As you can see, this gift of love comes to us by way of the Holy Spirit as well. Finally, there is given us a sound mind. 1 John 4:17 (NKJV) Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. 1 Corinthians 2:16 (NKJV) For who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ. Even our sound mind comes from Him. Because we have Jesus, we also have His mind. I read something recently regarding that thought. Since we have the mind of Christ, if He wouldnt think it neither should we. Why let the enemy use our mind to dump his garbage. Since fear doesnt come from God, it is from the enemy and the only things that come from the enemy are garbage, doctrines of demons. We can cast those thoughts out and make way for the power, love and sound mind that Jesus died to give us. Its His power, His love, and His sound mind and He gives it to us in place of fear. Now that is shouting ground !!!
