2 Timothy 2:23 gives more sound advice. “Have nothing to do - TopicsExpress

2 Timothy 2:23 gives more sound advice. “Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels.” Sometimes it just pays to walk away from a conversation. Some “discussions” are just foolish and ignorant. The Greek word for ‘foolish’ is the word from which we get the word ‘moron.’ It is a word that reflects scorn on a person’s heart and character. Some people are just foolish; that is their heart and character are not right and there is nothing you can do about it in a discussion about some remote issue. The Greek word for ‘ignorant’ is used only in this verse in all of scripture. It is the negative form of the word that reflects to instruct, to chastise, to correct. It is a word that means to be unlearned. So when you are trying to discuss something that the other person knows nothing about and he or she is foolish, it will stir up controversy; it will breed quarrels. Walk away from the discussion my friend. This action would be wise and prudent. Walk away and keep your character intact. Walk away!
