2 Timothy 2: 7 I have done my best in the race As I read the passage taken from 2 Timothy 4:1-8, I reflected on the content and extracted a nugget that I deem a fitting statement to express how I feel about what I have done as a mother. Ereaders, please note that the statement does not mean that 1. I have always made the right/”good” decisions 2. I have given my children everything they needed and wanted 3. I have been patient during this journey 4. I have always been the best example 5. I have ……. It simply echoes that with the resources that were available to me, I tried to be the mother who ensured that I established, for my children, a Godly, financial, educational, relational….HERITAGE. Have I been able to accomplish all of this? I would be the first to tell you that I have not done so at the level I wanted to, but I use verse 7 to share with you my sentiments about how I ran the race called MOTHERHOOD 7 I have done my best in the race Some might say that one should wait for children to tell you this, but Paul did not wait. Why should I have to wait? Paul was able to evaluate himself, and from this evaluation, he shared with Timothy. Paul, in essence, recognized the need to encourage, himself and others; he also recognized what rewards awaited him for doing his best. Mothers, encourage yourself and others with the words, 7 I have done my best in the race And be reminded that because we have done our best, OUR REWARD is laid up for us in heaven. HAVE A HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY FROM THE FILES OF CURRY JUS SAYIN 2
