2 VEHICLE PERSONAL INJURY ACCIDENT On 10/30/2014 at approximately 11:38 a.m. Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a call regarding a two vehicle personal injury accident on South Sandusky Rd. North of Barbara St. in the Village of Peck. An investigation revealed that a 2008 Mercury Sable being driven by 78 year old Jesse Withey of Brown City was southbound on South Sandusky Rd. Mr. Withey had a medical issue which caused him to black out. Mr. Withey’s vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a 2010 Chevrolet Aveo which was parked facing northbound on the east side of South Sandusky Rd. The Aveo was occupied by 83 year old James Hill of Peck. Mr. Hill was parked there talking to a subject that lives at a nearby residence. Mr. Hill sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to McKenzie Hospital by Sanilac EMS. Mr. Withey was checked out by Marlette EMS on scene and released. Both subjects were wearing seatbelts. The air bags did not deploy on either vehicle. Sanilac County Sheriff’s Deputies’ were assisted at the scene by the Peck Fire Department, Marlette EMS, and Sanilac EMS.
