2 senior electrical engineering experts, Prof Dr Hew Wooi Ping and Dr Che Hang Seng of UMPEDAC of University Malaya have consented to serve as the Honorary Advisers to Lightup Borneo-potentially bringing their vast knowledge and experience in electrification to the assistance of our `mission impossible to light up rural Borneo! Up to now the 2 academics have engaged with us in various endeavors, including visiting our installation of a micro hydro in Raud and a floating hydro in Long Pasia. They have also delivered a much appreciated talk on solar panels maintenance to the villagers during the trip to Borneo. They proposed to look into setting up a micro-grid for Long Pasia to improve the electricity usage there through solar-hydro hydrid system tie-up. We look forward to more assistance from them in near future-stay tune on this page! Lightup Borneo will seek collaboration and assistance from more people and campuses to widen our consultation panel, to attract more expert and non-expert volunteers as well as potential staff for our widening operation in Borneo.
