2 unadoptable boys will now live out their lifes in paradise! Tonight was an amazing night! We left with butterflies after setting up two very lucky semi-feral boys in their new forever barn home! A woman was evicted from her home and 11 cats were left homeless, including two unadoptable semi-feral boys. Barn homes are incredibly difficult to find. Once in a blue moon we find someone with a barn who is willing to commit to the daily and long term care of barn cats and understand the importance of the 6 week adjustment period. Relocating stray/semi-feral/feral cats to a barn home is a long process. They must be contained (comfortably) for a minimum of 4 weeks (6 weeks is best) prior to being released. With out this adjustment period the cats would be lost and run away. Releasing them at a barn without giving them sufficient time to adjust is no different than dumping them as they have no idea where they are. Here are some pictures of what we set up tonight for these two lucky boys! They will now live in paradise! We set them up with everything they could possibly need to make this adjustment period as comfortable as possible... huge extra large crates, warm and insulated hiding cubbies, fleece blankets, scratching posts, cat nip toys, treats and plenty of food and litter. After they are fully comfortable and adjusted to their new surroundings they will be free and living it up as spoiled and loved barn cats. The woman who adopted these boys is a true Angel! We only wish that we could clone her a million times! If you have any leads on good barn homes with people willing to provide daily food, water and shelter, please send them our way!
