20 students, 2 student trip leaders, and 2 USC staff members are just beginning their winter break after traveling with a purpose the past week on Alternative Service Breaks through the Leadership and Service Center. Both groups volunteered up to 30 hours per student and make a lasting impact in the community. The first group worked with the Carolina Tiger Rescue in Pittsboro, NC, a nonprofit wildcat sanctuary, whose mission is saving and protecting wildcats in captivity and in the wild. UofSC students helped install fencing for enclosures. The next alternative breaks will be during spring break.
