20 years ago Copenhageners suggested that it should be possible to swim in the city harbour, which was heavily polluted at the time. 10 years later, after the implementation of a cleaning plan, the first harbour bath opened, followed by many others, and is now one of the most popular places in town. Copenhagen has made pioneering efforts to expand its #greeneconomy, working with companies, universities and civil society to create forums dedicated to developing green growth. The city created a bicycle infrastructure like no other, used by 55% of Copenhageners every day, and is also on track to become the worlds first carbon-neutral city by 2025.
