20 years ago today Davey Allison was involved in helicopter crash that he would pass away from on July 13th. For whatever reason I seem to be pretty good with remembering various dates....this one hurts. I was big fan of Davey and got to see him in person and follow his career. I remember with a smile his trip to Daytona in `87 sitting on the front row the T Bird and after loosing a tire and down a lap or more was back out running in front of the leader, Dale Earnhardt. Richard Childress was interviewed and was ticked that Davey would not get out the way. Well he did....HE LEFT THEM! Pulled away from him....too funny. He left us too early and is missed. But I just read a article where he donated his heart, liver, kidneys and more so others could live longer. I lost someone I got to watch and enjoy he and his family. The racing community lost a star. The Allison family lost sooo much more. The Allison family is a true test of intestinal fortitude if I ever saw it. As much as I so respect Bobby Allison lord knows I was pulling for Davey in 92 at Daytona. Rest in peace Davey....you are missed & may God Bless you and your family, friends and fans.
