2006, Botlhale Primary School, std 7, my girlfriend at the time (dont ask, I was naughty) was asked what she wants to be when she grows up and she says, with all that confidence she had, an accountant!, as the teacher kept asking others I had nothing to say until she got to me and I also said an accountant not knowing what I was talking about. 2007- dikgatlho CJSS, there was a term we did accounting in Business studies class, I fell in love with this accounting stuff. 2010- i flunked setswana with an F the previous year in form 3, this year setswana and accounting clashed as my option(this was a dilemma because I was told I cant get govt. sponsorship if I dont do setswana), I picked accounting nonetheless and never looked back. 2012- I applied to only one school to study accounting, BAC. I was urged to apply at others on the basis of What if BAC doesnt accept me, but I had a sense of certainty and confidence that that is the school that will mould me into the accountant I want to be. Eventually I got my acceptance letter to study AAT at this amazing college BAC, proving the fearful folks wrong. 2014- I can proudly call myself an accountant/accounting technician. Im sooooo excited. This is only the beginning, Im still at the bottom of the food chain!
