2010s Gold Medalist Roger Daniel was unable to retain his title placing 7th in the Mens Individual 25m Standard pistol at the CAC Games in Veracruz, Mexico. Venezuelas Felipe Beuvrin took the gold medal with 568 points. Daniel will next represent T&T in the Mens Individual 25m Rapid Fire Pistol stage 1 on Sunday and stage 2 of the same event on Monday. T&T Womens Football Team suffered another heavy defeat this time 7-0 to Columbia ending their CAC Games in Veracruz campaign. Iyesha Ollvirre was unfortunate to direct the ball into her own goal in the 32nd minute making the score 3-0 before Ingrid Vidal took the South American country 4-0 by the end of the first half. T&T Womens Basketball team ended the preliminary round with their first victory of the 2014 CAC Games against Jamaica, defeating their fellow Caribbean Islanders 50-59. Patrice Edwards top scored for T&T with 23 points. T&T next game will be today. Syriah and Shania David made history for Trinidad and Tobago before entering the water in the Womens 10km Open Water at the CAC Games. The sisters are the first athletes to compete in the sport for T&T. Despite her 16th place finish, Shania was proud of her accomplishment finishing the race within the allocated time of 30 minutes after the 1st place winner Montserrat Ortuno of Mexico. Syriah however was not as fortunate being disqualified for not finishing within the time. Cuba defeated defending CAC Games Champions T&T 4-2 in the semifinals of the Womens hockey in Veracruz, Mexico. Cuba got on the scoreboard in the 8th minute, T&T then drew level 4 minutes later. The Cubans were able to extend their lead at the start of the second half.
