2013 Charity of Choice Second Harvest Food Bank Thanks to everyone who brought donations to the October Educational Seminar. PASCCO collected 44 pounds of food! We will continue our collection efforts and have boxes for donations available at the IP Section Meeting, the Trust and Estates Section Meeting, and the General meetings in November and December. Suggested items: Meals in a can (stew, chili, soup) Tuna/canned meat Peanut butter Canned foods with pop-top lids Low sugar cereal 100% fruit juices in single servings boxes Canned fruit packaged in juice Canned vegetables Second Harvest Food Bank serves over 200,000 people each month in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties; 67% are families with children and 12% are senior citizens. It aims to distribute 42,500,000 pounds of food this year through a network of 328 partner agencies, such as Sacred Heart Community Services, Martha’s Kitchen and Shelter Network, in addition to its direct service programs, which provide for families, seniors, and children.
