2013 Chevrolet Traverse Introduced as a 2009 model, Traverse is Chevrolet’s largest crossover, positioned above the smaller Equinox. Traverse has a direct injection 3.6-liter V6 engine with 6-speed automatic transmission, and it’s available in front-wheel or all-wheel drive. Four trim levels are offered, and 3-row seating is standard. Traverse is a competent crossover, but it has only limited off-road capability and a lower standard towing capacity than Pathfinder. Pathfinder is a capable SUV that offers a more sophisticated 4-wheel drive system with three driver-selectable modes. Pathfinder provides the power, ride comfort, and amenities of a crossover and adds genuine off-road and towing capabilities that Traverse can’t match.
