2014-01-28 04:19:10 - Environment Pollution - USA EDIS CODE: ED-20140128-42473-USA Date & Time: 2014-01-28 04:19:10 [UTC] Area: USA, State of Pennsylvania, Delaware River, Marcus Hook Description: Chopper 3 over the scene as the U.S. Coast Guard responds to a crude oil spill in the Delaware River. The incident was reported at about 1 p.m. Monday near Monroe Energy LLC in Marcus Hook, Delaware County. The Coast Guard says about 1,000 gallons of crude oil spilled into the river, about one mile south of the Commodore Barry Bridge. Boom is deployed to contain the oil while responders use skimmers and vacuums to remove the oil from the water. A pollution response team from Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay is on scene to verify safe and thorough cleanup operations. No injuries have been reported at this time.
