2014-11-10 04:54 UTC Geomagnetic Storm Underway The coronal mass ejection (CME) associated with the R3 event of November 7th has made a quiet arrival at Earth. Although there was no shock with the arrival of this CME, which isnt terribly unusual given its relatively modest velocity, the overall strength of the magnetic field influencing Earth confirms it is here. As a result, G2 (Moderate) geomagnetic storming is possible on the 10th with G1 (Minor) storming continuing into the 11th. On the Sun, Region 2205 remains fairly steady in both size and complexity. Solar flare activity has tapered off from a few days ago, though, with no further R2 or greater events observed since the R3 of the 7th. As per NOAA SWPC. -sleyski
