2014-15 Fairfield County String Festival Participants Congratulations to Matt Brantl (cello), Cecilia Schoeni (violin), Constaintine (Dino) Vogiatzia (cello) and Madison Wittmer (violin) for being accepted to participate in this years Fairfield County String Festival. Students were accepted based on an audition in which they had to demonstrate their musical abilities in the areas of intonation/note accuracy, rhythmic accuracy, tempo, tone, articulation, playing technique, and expression/interpretation. The Fairfield County String Festival is a county-wide festival for high-achieving string players in grades 6, 7, 8, and 9 and is sponsored by the Fairfield County String Teachers, Inc. Students will rehearse on March 27-28, 2015 at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury with other talented string students from all over Fairfield County. Their hard work with renowned and inspiring conductors will culminate in a concert on March 28, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Western CT State Universitys brand new performing arts center. These concerts are outstanding, as any past participant will tell you. It is truly an honor to be a performer in this festival and an invaluable musical experience for the all involved. The Music Department is proud to Matt, Cecilia, Dino, and Madison represent our school at this year’s festival.
