2014 45th Taiwan Independence Cup Softball Tournament Dear Softball Teams, Welcome to the 45th Taiwan Cup Softball Tournament on Saturday August 30, 2014. On behalf of Taiwanese Association of Kansas City; we would like to invite all teams to participate this year’s tournament at Olathe, Kansas, which is Kansas City area. My name is Hill Chia(913-669-5514) and I am the coordinator for this tournament. Vince Sung, President of Taiwanese Association of Kansas City and Bryan Chu(816-682-6864), board of the TAKC, and Ching Lin, TAKC team leader will be work with me. Our goals is to have each team play at least two games, so we would like to start the tournament at 10 AM sharp. During the lunch break, Director General Yang will be addressing the group with a speech and we will also take couple group pictures. Please drive safely and be careful. Game Starting: 10 AM Location: Black Bob Park, Olathe Kansas 14500 W 151st St Olathe, KS 66062 Here is the list of each Team’s Manager: Chin Lin – TAKC Bryan Chou/ Charles Sun – UMKC Chan-Ching Hsu – Iowa State Jim Chun Hsien Ho - MU at Columbia Hank Chen/ Larry Huang– St Louis Yu-Hsiang Liao – UiUC ( May not able to attend) Play Rules Games will be playing 60 minutes or six innings whichever comes first. Game stopped on a “15 runs differential rules” after 4th innings. Continuous batting (or Extra Players) system will be played. Players’ hitting sequence must not be changed or substituted throughout the single game unless injury occurs (not like baseball) but defense positions can be inter-changed. Pinch runners are allowed. The roster player, the last one out, can pinch run for the injured player. A game card (provided) must be filled with player names and the batting order before the game for each game; only the players listed on the game card can play for that particular game. Team managers can submit game cards of different roster players for the different games. With a carbon copy of the game card, team managers can monitor the batting orders of both teams. Play Schedule and Match Each team plays at least two tournament games.
