2014 African cup of Nations draws; Former winners Algeria, Ghana and South Africa have been drawn together in a mouthwatering Group C at the Africa Cup of Nations. Mongomo will host all of the groups fixtures and those traveling to Equatorial Guinea for the competition may look to flock to the town close to the Gabonese border, with a string of high-profile fixtures to be played out in a pool that also includes Senegal. South Africa is the most recent winner in the group after its 1996 triumph, but Ghana counts four continental titles among its honors - only Egypt (seven) has more. The tournament will begin on Jan. 17 with recently appointed host Equatorial Guinea facing Congo in Bata. Gabon, which staged the 2012 Afcon with Equatorial Guinea, is also in Group A, as is 2013 finalist Burkina Faso, while Nigeria will not be back to defend the title it won in South Africa last year after failing to qualify. Former winners Zambia and Tunisia are drawn together in Group B alongside Cape Verde and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Finally, Group D will see two of the continents heavyweights meet in the shape of Cote dIvoire and Cameroon, though Mali and Guinea will also have designs on progressing.
