2014 Contract Campaign Update: Congratulations!! Yesterday, UFCW Southern California members ratified their Master Food Contract! I want to take this time to thank ALL of the Presidents (President Icaza, President Straeter, President Lathrop, President Conger and President Kasparian) and their staff that participated in the negotiation process and aided in getting the contract completed. Your time and dedication to the working folks of the UFCW is so greatly appreciated. No I did not forget! I especially want to thank President Connie Leyva and Secretary Treasurer Mark Ramos of our Local 1428. Your leadership during negotiations as through everything we do was stellar. During this session of negotiations we lost our dear brother/co-worker Carlos and it was very very difficult for staff and members. Let me personally say that Connie and Mark led us with dignity and compassion and not one area of any process was neglected. So on behalf of the staff of Local 1428, Thank you!
