2014 Florida Flute Association Convention Once again, we are planning on exciting events for the 2014 convention. In case you missed our last newsletter, our guest artist will be Ian Clarke. Ian, a Miyazawa international flute artist, is acknowledged as one of the leading players and composers in the flute world. His published works are establishing themselves as some of the most exciting flute repertoire of today and are being embraced by internationally acclaimed performers, teachers, colleges & students alike. In his career, he has performed in genres ranging from classical opera to a guest appearance with rock group Jethro Tull/Ian Anderson. His most recent May CD release, “Deep Blue” has already reached the top 10 UK Classical Artists Charts. Check out his website and his music at ianclarke.net. Donʼt miss this incredible performer! Our Friday night performers will be our very own Karl Barton and Karl Lutgens, lovingly dubbed by us as “The Two Karls.” For those of you familiar with our conventions, you have seen Karl Barton in charge of sound and technical issues for our performances and events, and you have seen Karl Lutgens running our wonderful exhibits. These two gentlemen are outstanding flutists and flute teachers and not to be missed! **We have an update on the Honors Flute Choirs for the convention:** Sharyn Byer will be conducting the Intercollegiate Honors Choir Karl Lutgens will be conducting the Senior Honors Choir Joann Kinder will be conducting the Junior Honors Choir We are looking forward to seeing everyone again in 2014.
