2014 NFL DRAFT DO-OVER Picks 6-10 6. Atlanta Falcons Aaron Donald, DT Pitt After months of managing to slip under everybody’s predraft radar, Pitt Alumni Aaron Donald has wreaked havoc on opposing offensive lines all year, to no surprise of those who followed him closely leading up to the draft. Now that he is eastablished as on of the league’s top interior pass rushers, the sky is the limit for the centerpiece of St. Louis’ dreaded pass rush. 7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Zack Martin, G Notre Dame Zack Martin’s sales pitch going into the draft was the he was a polished, versatile lineman, able to lineup inside or outside, while managed no glaring weaknesses at his game. Now that we’ve enjoyed seeing him lead the way for a monstrous Dallas rushing attack, Cowboys RB Demarco Murray will be able to tell you that his talent is an understatement. Not only does he lack weaknesses like we already knew, his polished mechanics have impressed all, allowing him to have a top blocker grade from PFF, the most respected football analysis you can get. 8. Cleveland Browns Joel Bitonio, G Nevada OK so Cleveland originally started at the 4th pick in line for Sammy Watkins, traded down to 9 with Buffalo, and then traded up one spot to the 8th pick to grab CB Justin Gilbert, essentially destroying everyone’s mock drafts. And after more 1st round disappointment with Johnny Manziel at 22, you’d assume Cleveland ruined their chances at a great rookie crop. Thanks to former Nevada G Joel Bitonio this hasn’t been the case. Often overlooked due to the rich talent of fellow rookies Zack Martin and Gabe Jackson, Bitonio has played as well as if not arguably better, anchoring the Cleveland brown line, between pro bowlers Joe Thomas, and Alex Mack. 9. Minnesota Vikings Anthony Barr, OLB/DE UCLA After converting from offensive to defense in his UCLA days, former runningback Anthony Barr was debated to be the draft class’ top Linebacker along with eventual Raider Khalil Mack. Although he may not have premier skills in setting the edge against the run, the Minnesota Vikings will reclaim their original selection as he has separated himself from the pack with his notable pass rushing ability. Equipped with a long frame and good explosion, this originally upsided pick has not disappointed and will further develop into the NFC North’s next Clay Matthews. 10. Detroit Lions Jason Verrett, CB TCU With a class with no true top DB, the unheralded Jason Verrett has quietly had a good year in San Diego, despite the team’s secondary being in the lowest tier just a year ago. With what the TCU product lacks in prototypical size, and boxscore sheet stuffers, he has made up for with good ball skills, and remarkable quickness. -NFL Insiders Admin Crew ***Picks 11-20 soon to come
