2014 PPIA Fellow Profile: Keisa Reynolds is double majoring in cultural studies and early childhood education at Columbia College Chicago. What are you looking forward to most about your JSI this summer? “Sharing space with passionate student leaders who are ready to tackle serious issues that impact our communities. Its not often that so many of us are given the opportunity to learn from each other and grow together, so Im excited!” What accomplishment are you most proud of? “Accepting my identity. It wasnt until I came to college that I was given space to figure out aspects of my identity that I knew were (and currently are) rejected by society. By accepting my identity, I finally accepted myself and understood that my experiences didnt make me less valued, less of a person. With that, I fully started to understand the importance of fighting against injustices and being in solidarity with marginalized groups. My other accomplishments followed that journey.” Welcome Keisa!
