2014 PPIA Fellow Profile: Mariam Nur is a student at Alverno College. My name is Mariam Nur and I am a student at Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I am currently a double major in psychology and international affairs. I am originally from Cairo, Egypt but also raised in St. Paul, Minnesota. My policy interest is in security and conflict in the Sub-Saharan African region and more generally African Foreign Affairs. I am fluent in three languages; Somali, Arabic, and English. I have served as Community Service Chair for Gamma Alpha Omega Sorority Inc., as well as being a fellow for the Hesselbein Global Academy for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement. Welcome Miriam!
