2014 Quick Recap: It was a year of firsts. Thats not always easy to say after being with the same girl for 18 years and 20 years of singing and writing songs. But it started with a bang winning Australian Country Musics highest honor, the Golden Guitar Award for Duo of the Year. Not bad for a kid from Dalby, Qld and a ranga from Adelaide. We then spent a month in Texas at RODEOHOUSTON meeting & interviewing some of the biggest names in music including Selena Gomez, Reba McEntire and Maroon 5. We returned to Nashville to play one of my favorite gigs on the planet, the Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival after that we hit the Carribean for a week long cruise with the kids and some friends, another first for us as we never take holidays. We returned to record what wed like to think is our best album yet. (hope you do too!) The first single we wrote with one of our idols Steve Wariner and the video went on to get more than 1,000,000 views and 45,000 Shares. We played the Opry for the first time! We interviewed Garth Brooks and celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary. All firsts for us! Ive dressed more barbie dolls than I care to recall, spent more time in airports than any human should and even received a special offer from a dodgy masseuse in Vegas. All firsts! (I declined of course). Our children have brought more joy and craziness than Ive ever experienced or thought possible. And Jay and I are more in love than ever before (cheesy but true). Thank you to everyone who has supported us through the last 365 days and beyond. I cant wait to see what 2015 holds and Im sending you all a huge dose of love and happiness for the coming year! Bring it 2015! Lets do this! M
