** 2014 Rail Tour Dates and Prices Confirmed ** Following on from our hugely successful inaugural railway tour in September, we are delighted to offer an expanded 2014 rail tour programme, with tours in both May and September. We are offering two different tour styles, Rail Enthusiast Tours and Rail Cruise Tours: i) Rail Enthusiast Tours The rail enthusiast tour itineraries have been designed to cater specifically to the railway enthusiast market: - Taking several charter train journeys around the country hauled by a variety of locomotives (locally made ‘Red Flag’ electric, Russian sourced M62 diesel). Includes widespread photography and filming opportunities, station stops and locomotive cab visits; - The very rare opportunity to experience public transport in Pyongyang; ride on several trolley buses, trams and the metro across the capital, again with full photography and filming opportunities; - Taking the classic international overnight train journey between Beijing and Pyongyang, crossing the Yalu river over the Sino-Korean friendship bridge; - Visits to rail related sights of interest such as the Pyongyang railway museum, metro museum and the locomotive display stand at the 3 Revolutions Exhibition, plus street level photography opportunities of Pyongyang’s tram and trolley bus network; ii) Rail Cruise Tours We realise that there was also a market for tourists who, although perhaps not rail enthusiasts, are still interested in an itinerary combining visits to some of the country’s most interesting tourist sights and travelling around the country in style by rail, experiencing a relaxing journey with some fine food and drinks in between destinations: - Travelling across the DPRK whilst relaxing on board our own chartered tourist train, with comfortable seated and sleeper carriages, on board bar and restaurant car; - Viewing the Korean countryside from ground level by train, along stunning rail routes rarely travelled on by foreign tourists; - Combining relaxing rail travel with visits to some of the country’s most interesting and enjoyable tourist attractions; - Staying in the DPRK’s most luxurious hotels, the 5* Hyangsan Hotel in Mount Myohyang and 5* Majon Deluxe Hotel in Hamhung; We have set up a dedicated Rail Tour page on our website with detailed itineraries and information sheets: juchetravelservices/The%20Tours/_Railway%20Tours.html Should you wish to apply, please follow the instructions on the website.
