2014 Wisconsin Badgers Football week 1 Preview: This Saturday night the Wisconsin Badgers will travel to Houston,TX to face the LSU Tigers in the annual Texas Kickoff game at Reliant Stadium. It will look a little different for the Badgers offense this season as they will start QB Tanner McEvoy against the LSU Tigers, McEvoy who played at CB last season will get the his 1st FBS start at QB over last seasons starting QB Joel Stave who is fully healed after suffering a shoulder injury last season. Also the Badgers RB position will also look as RB Melvin Gordon takes over for Montee Ball as the starter with Corey Clements as his backup as they will look to continue where Ball and Gordon left off last season by dominating the ground game in the B1G( Big Ten ) Conference. The one major question will be at WR and who will replace former Badger Jared Abbrederis as they will have returning WRs Kenzel Doe, Jordan Fredrick and up in coming WR Reggie Love as well as returning TE Sam Arneson will create openings down field targets against the LSU secondary. The Badgers offensive line is still mostly intact with 4 out of 5 returning from last seasons team. It’s a much different situation for the Badgers defense heading into their game against LSU as they will have a new look in within the defensive line with DE Chikwe Obash(Fr.), NT Warren Herring(Sr.) and DE Konrad Zagzebski(Sr.) also they will have 2 new ILBs in Marcus Trotter(Sr.) and Derek Landish(Sr.) will look to replace last years duo starters in Chris Borland and Mike Taylor. Fortunately for the Badgers most of their secondary is still intact with CBs Sojourn Sheldon, Peniel Jean and Darius Hilary. On special teams the Badgers will look to switch between kickers Jack Russell( last years starter ) and Rafael Gaglianone(Fr.) they will have the same punter in Drew Myer. Also WR Kenzel Doe will look to handle both the KR and PR duties this season. On Wisconsin! and Go Badgers!
