2014 has been a personally and professionally challenging year. But in the end, and in retrospect, it was a year in which I took what life (one damn thing after another, as someone once said) threw at me (I mean, what choice do we have?); reacquainted myself with what I am made of, or some of it anyway; and found out who my friends are. All in all, thats not bad for 365 days. At the end of it, I realize how fortunate I am in so many regards, and how grateful I am for that, not the least for which is being able to sing along with the late, great Elaine Stritch (who, sadly, isnt) to my bottom line of 2014:
