2014 has been a year of great challenge and great promise for the city of Jackson. A year that very few could have predicted, our city has had to grapple with both tragic losses and a variety of complex political and social issues. Yet despite the challenges that have presented themselves in 2014, the true spirit of this city was never diminished. That was possible because the citizens of Jackson have remained resolute in their belief that Jackson has a future and that it is our duty to make it a bright one. Everyday I am inspired by the tales of courage, creativity and unity that happen on a daily basis in this city. It is because Jacksonians are so strong that I know that we as a city and community will be even stronger in 2015. As we enter a new year I want to say thank you to the citizens of Ward 2 for giving me the opportunity to represent you on City Council. Though there is much work to be done, please know that I am here humbly to serve and push Ward 2 to even greater heights. I would also like to take a moment to thank all the city employees who work tirelessly to keep this city we call home running. Finally I would like to thank my family for their continued love and support during what has been a roller coaster of a year. So as we put a end to 2014 I hope that everyone has a safe New Years Eve and know that the bar has been set even higher for 2015!
