2014 has surpassed my expectations by a long shot. My second year - TopicsExpress

2014 has surpassed my expectations by a long shot. My second year of running got off to a solid start with 5th at the Nick Beer shortly followed by a 10th place finish at the Anglesey HM and 2 minutes off the previous years time. Marathon debut was next, finishing 23rd out of 9000 at Brighton. What happened next blew my mind. A message off Alun Vaughan saying Ill coach you had to read it a million times until it sank in. 2 weeks of base miles before finishing 10th out of 6000 at the Chester HM in a new PB. Results from there just seemed to exceed the previous one. 13th at the Welsh 5k championships and Snowdon Super Cup. Then my first race victory at the Deiniolen 10k. Wearing the North Wales Vest for the first time at the regional championships was an amazing experience. Winning the bronze in the 3k was overwhelming. It was decided then that it was time to join a club, I opted for Eryri Harriers as Im a Llanberis boy at heart. I returned to the road for my final 3 races of the year after my first experience of a peaking phase winning the Southport 10k (PB) Ras 4 Llyn 30k and then the icing on the cake, the hat trick of wins at the Lancaster HM (PB). Big thanks to the ever understanding Siobhan Williams who despite working herself and having 2 children under the age of 3 never bats an eyelid to my increasing weekly mileage. Also want to thank my support Crew, known as the bugs theyll know who they are. So heres to 2015. Good luck to you all, stay safe and keep smiling.
