2014 is now over. The highlights include the birth of our first grandchild, our daughter Heather got married, I started back to school, we planted our first church at Lakeside, our Christmas Eve services were maybe our best ever, I led a team to Kenya. There were so many wonderful moments – too many to mention. But, there were also some disappointments and heartbreaks – moments that brought tears to my eyes. This is what life is all about – both highs and lows. The most important thing is that God was present in every moment. That is what I experienced more than anything this last year – the very presence of God. His presence was more real to me than ever. As we head in 2015, I have this sense that it will be filled with some pretty awesome personal and ministry moments. I am pretty excited about the new year. I know there will be those moments of heartbreak and disappointment – but I sense the scale will tip in favour of the good and great moments. I enter the new year feeling very blessed. I have a great family, I lead a great community of faith, I have some great friends, I have pretty good health and all my needs are met. The most important thing about this new year is that God is still very present and he will walk with me through the good and not so good times. Let the new year begin. I am ready for what God has in store for me.
