2014 marks the 5th Anniversary of the Ohio Veterans’ Memorial - TopicsExpress

2014 marks the 5th Anniversary of the Ohio Veterans’ Memorial Park. If any of you have had the honor and privilege to hear the history of how the park began by our historian Ken Noon, you know that Clinton, Ohio was NOT the original intended location. The OVMP is lucky to still have Ken on the team of volunteers who give so much to continue to beautify this magnificent park but we are only as strong as our supporters. What some of you may or may not know is that of the 3,095 Vietnam HEROES 25% of them are from Cuyahoga, Stark, Summit, Wayne, Portage, & Medina County. Of the 308 HEROES from the Beirut Conflict, the Gulf War, Iraq/Afghan 28% are from those same counties. Finally, of the 1,774 Koran War HEROES that have not yet been etched 26% are from right here in the 6 county area. All that being said the wall and the park honors all our military but the impact that just our surrounding communities have endured, is staggering. Please help us ensure that not only our local community but that all of America knows that OHIO stands behind the many families and friends serving in our US Military. Please take a stand and share our page with all of your friends. You never know who is on their friends list or their friends, friends list. We need to make sure that wherever these families may have ended up that their FAMILY member will forever be remembered.
