2014년 8월 22일 Matthew설교문 Fullness of Time. Sermon: Preamble: Good evening! its good to see all of you. I am glad you are here. Let’s pray and invite our guest of honor. Prayer. Sermon The Fullness of Time. Have you ever waited for something to happen? Have you ever been told that something will happen and you waited for it. What was your reaction? How did you feel? Think about that time. It was June of 2013 I had interviewed with some job opportunities and it was 7 different interviews, each interview lasted 15 minutes, and there were 7 of my classmates interviewing. I believe the interviews went all and now the hard part was waiting. I waited and waited, but no answer came. I became discouraged and disappointed. 3 months later The answer came in an email. the opportunity that came was Korea. fast forward almost a year later and I am standing here today. Time. We think we have it all figured out. But time is a interesting concept. For us time is in a linear perspective, in a line. For God time is not confined to a linear straight line perspective. God’s time is sometimes unexplainable. But He gives us clues, and his word to understand. Tonight we are talking about the Fullness of Time. What does that mean? We look into the verse that it is found in. “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 in order to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as children.” In one, 24 hour day we have 24 hours, 1,440 minutes, 86,400 Seconds Tonight I want to talk about the Fullness of time. In the fullness of time Jesus came. A the right moment Jesus came. When the time had come “God sent his Son. In short this chapter in Desire of Ages talks about the fullness of time that Christ comes Ellen White writes about how the world awaited the Christ. Since the beginning of time there awaited the Savior. Adam and Eve waited and thought that they would bear the son who would save the world. The prophets foretold that the coming of Christ would come, that His life would come to us a child. Each parent that held to the promise of God hoped for there child to be the One. The fullness of time God sent his son, to a woman, who were born under the law. God sent his son to redeem, those who were in sin. And that is the point I want to make tonight. At the right time God sent his Son. Ellen White writes: “They longed for a religion that could satisfy the heart…They were thirsting for a knowledge of the living God…” As the prophets, and those who awaited the coming of Christ, they longed for the savior. there hearts was in need of one who could satisfy the heart. For us we have the same thirst. We too await the coming of Christ. Christ came to redeem us, redeem means “gain or regain possession of (something) in exchange for payment.” Christ came to save us, to regain us from the Law. Which was sin. Sin the things we do, the things that are bad that happen to us He rescues us from a sinful world. Christ in the fullness of time redeems us from the law. She continues to write: “And when the fullness of time had come, the Deity was glorified by pouring upon the world a a flood of healing grace that was never to be obstructed or withdrawn till the plan of salvation should be fulfilled.” Christ was that grace. Christ came to be poured out the healing grace. Grace. This week I have been thinking about this word. Grace Grace means: a special favor I want to tell you that Jesus came at the right time to give us grace. Grace is for you. Grace covers all the wrongs that we have done. Through his love God gives us grace. In fullness of time Grace was offered to us through the birth of Jesus. At the right time Christ came to us. When the world was in deep sin Christ came to save us. Ellen White continues to write: “Then Jesus came to restore in man the image of his maker.” Jesus came to restore, God, Jesus who was perfect came to restore us. We who were fallen, were imperfect, unholy. Jesus came to restore us. Restore: To bring back to an original condition Christ came to us to bring us back into our original condition. Christ came to restore us. She continues to write: “None but Christ can fashion anew the character that has been ruined by sin He came to expel the demons that had controlled the will. He came to LIFT US UP FROM THE DUST, to reshape the marred character after the pattern of His divine character, and to make it beautiful with His own glory. Christ in his grace came to LIFT YOU UP FROM THE DUST. there will be times in our life where will be in the dust, of our troubles, the dust of our problems. I ask you are you in the dust? are you being controlled by your struggles, are you in the dust? Christ at the right time came to us to save us, to lift us up from the dust. In the fullness of time Christ was sent to give us grace and love. The verse finishes with with a beautiful message “so that we might receive adoption as children.” We are children of God. Our identity is in Christ, and that we are sons and daughters of Jesus. You are a child of God created and beautiful, wonderfully made. In the fullness of time when Christ came he was thinking of you, he was thinking of me. In his love and grace Jesus came to save us, to redeem us, to be with us. Christ came to take away the demons, the struggles, the pain, the hardships, the troubles from us and he came to redeem us. Our marred characters our deformed characters Christ came to restore. He came to reshape, to reform, to restore our lives in Christ. In that restoration we are made beautifully into his own glory. Christ in the fullness of time came to be with us, for he choose us to be with him, you are chosen by God to be a son, a daughter of Jesus Christ. In the fullness Grace was displayed in front of all humanity. In the fullness of Time Christ came. In him we receive a new character a new life in Christ. In the fullness of time Jesus came for you and for me. Amen.
